Who is the tallest football player in the world?

Danish goalkeeper Simon Bloch Jorgensen is the tallest football player in the world, standing at a towering height of 6 feet 11 inches or 210 cm. He plays for English football club Waltham Abby FC.

Height in football is always looked at positively. Having a large stature allows players to be aerially dominant in a sport where players often need to rely on physical attributes.

However, being too tall can pose some challenges, especially for outfielders. Sometimes these really tall players lack technical qualities and find it more difficult to control the ball. This is why most of the tallest players in football take up goalkeeping since it is the one position where they don’t have to rely too much on their feet and where height could prove to be a differentiating factor.
