IPL Trophy Winner in 2020: Mumbai Indians

The top position on the IPL Winners List is that of Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians met Chennai Super Kings for the fourth time in the finals. Mumbai Indians set a low total of 149 at a loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. However, Chennai Super Kings could only score 148/7 in 20 overs.

Chennai Super Kings: IPL Winner in 2018

The comeback season after a two-year ban on Chennai Super Kings was overwhelming for CSK fans. The team faced SRH in the IPL finals and won the trophy. SRH set a target of 179 runs for Chennai Super Kings, which CSK easily chased with a score of 181/2 and nine balls to spare and won the trophy for the third time.

Mumbai Indians: IPL Winner in 2017

The 2017 winner on the IPL winners list is none other than Mumbai Indians. MI made it a trend of winning the trophy every odd year and beat Rising Pune Supergiants at the finals. Mumbai Indians set a total of 129 runs with 8 wickets down in 20 overs and successfully limited the opponent team to score 128/6 with no balls to spare.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: IPL Winner in 2016

The first and only win to date for the David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad was against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was a tough match as SRH set a target of 209 runs for RCB. However, as Royal Challengers Bangalore lost its key players – Kohli, Gayle, and De Villiers, the team failed and lost by 8 runs. David Warner and his team proudly lifted their first coveted trophy that season.

Mumbai Indians: IPL Winner in 2015

The second odd-year victory went in the hands of Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. The team faced CSK for the third time in the IPL finals when MI set a massive score of 202 runs at a loss of 5 wickets from 20 overs. CSK failed to achieve the target and lost by 41 runs – the second consecutive loss against MI.

Kolkata Knight Riders: IPL Winner in 2014

The second win for KKR under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir was against Kings XI Punjab. KXIP scored 199 runs at a loss of 4 wickets in the first innings setting a massive target for KKR. Scoring 200/7 with three balls to spare, KKR won the title with the major help of Manish Pandey, who scored 94 off 50 balls.

Mumbai Indians: IPL Winner in 2013

The first win for captain Rohit Sharma and his team was a moment of joy. MI reached the finals for the second time and didn’t back down this time. Facing CSK, MI set a low target of 149 runs which the Dhoni-led team failed to achieve. MI won the match by 23 runs under the young leadership of Rohit Sharma and marked their first win on the IPL winners list.

Kolkata Knight Riders: IPL Winner in 2012

KKR won the first trophy playing against CSK for the third consecutive time. CSK set a target of 191 runs that KKR achieved under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership with 192/5 and two balls to spare.

Chennai Super Kings: IPL Winner in 2011

CSK became the first team to win the title back to back for two seasons. CSK faced its rivals RCB in the finals and won the match by 58 runs. The opening partnership of Hussey and Murali Vijay against Royal Challengers Bangalore was a vital contribution towards the win.

Chennai Super Kings: IPL Winner in 2010

After losing the trophy in the inaugural season, CSK finally lifted their first IPL trophy. CSK faced its arch-rivals MI in the finals and set a target of 169 runs for MI. Mumbai lost the match by 22 runs with the help of Suresh Raina’s knock of 57 not out from 35 balls.

Deccan Chargers: IPL Winner in 2009

The Adam Gilchrist-led Deccan Chargers won the title in the second edition of IPL. The team that was at the bottom of the table in 2008 surprisingly won against RCB by 6 runs. Deccan Chargers scored 143/6 in 20 overs and RCB scored only 137/9 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals: IPL Winner in 2008

No one could predict which team will win the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. Although every team had strong players, Rajasthan Royals comprising mainly uncapped players, bagged the first title on the IPL winners list. RR beat CSK by 3 wickets, chasing a target of 163/5 in 20 overs set by CSK. Shane Watson, who was both the coach and captain for the RR team, received the man of the tournament award for his performance.
