Vaibhav Suryavanshi Biography and Career

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, born on 27 March 2011, has quickly emerged as one of the most prodigious young talents in Indian cricket. Representing Bihar in domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the left-handed batter has made headlines for rewriting age-related records across formats. At just 12 years old, he represented Bihar’s Under-19 team in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, showcasing his extraordinary potential at an age when most players are still in junior school.

In 2023, Suryavanshi was selected for the India B Under-19 team for a quadrangular series, where he impressed with 177 runs across six innings, including two well-crafted half-centuries. His consistent performances earned him a debut for the India Under-19 side in September 2024 against Australia Under-19s, firmly establishing his credentials on the national youth circuit.

January 2024 marked a historic moment as he made his first-class debut for Bihar against Mumbai at the age of 12 years and 284 days, becoming the second youngest to debut in the Ranji Trophy for Bihar and the fourth youngest in Indian cricket history. That same year, he debuted in T20 cricket during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at just 13 years and 241 days, becoming the youngest ever in the format. In December 2024, he further etched his name in the record books by becoming the youngest Indian to play List A cricket during the Vijay Hazare Trophy at 13 years and 269 days.

Suryavanshi’s rise reached new heights in April 2025 when he made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals against Lucknow Super Giants at the age of 14 years and 23 days becoming the youngest player in IPL history and notably the first born after the tournament's inception in 2008. Just nine days later, on 28 April 2025, he scripted history again by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the IPL, blasting 101 off 38 balls against Gujarat Titans. This remarkable feat at just 14 years and 32 days has placed Vaibhav Suryavanshi firmly in the spotlight as one of the brightest young stars in world cricket.
