Their highest total in the history of IPL in 263 runs in 20 overs that came in the 2013 edition of the cash-rich league. The match was against now-defunct Pune Warriors and Chris Gayle was the star player for RCB. Batting first, Gayle just ripped apart the Pune bowlers smashing an unbeaten record-breaking 175 runs off just 66 balls. He smashed 13 fours and 17 sixes during his innings while AB de Villiers enjoyed his stay in the middle smashing 31 runs off just 8 balls. In response, Pune Warriors were never in the chase and they crumbled under pressure and could only reach 133 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs.

RCB’s second-highest total in the history of IPL is 248/3 which they scored against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2016. This match was extremely special for the fans as AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli wrecked havoc together with the bat. After losing Chris Gayle early, the superstar duo just made the meal of the opposition bowlers with some majestic hitting. Both of them smashed centuries as RCB posted 248 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. While Virat Kohli scored 109 runs off just 55 balls with five fours and eight sixes, De Villiers was even more dangerous smashing 129 runs off just 52 deliveries with 10 fours and as many as 12 sixes to his name. 235/1, RCB v MI

In the 2015 edition of IPL, RCB stunned the Mumbai Indians while batting first and it was once again the duo of Kohli and De Villiers that reigned supreme against the eventual champions. Once again, Chris Gayle got out early but then, there was no more success for MI in the innings. Kohli and De Villiers together added 215 runs for the second wicket stand. While Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 off 50 balls, De Villiers was in his elements yet again smashing an unbeaten 133 off just 59 balls. Sunrisers Hyderabad bore the brunt of RCB’s star-studded batting in IPL 2016. Yet again, it was Chris Gayle who got out early and once again, Kohli and De Villiers plundered runs at will. This time around they added 157 runs for the second wicket partnership propelling RCB’s score to a mammoth 227/4 in their 20 overs. Sarfaraz Khan also made his presence felt in the innings scoring an unbeaten 35 off just 10 balls. In response, SRH tried hard but they could only reach 182 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs.

226/3, RCB v PBKS

The 2015 IPL season saw Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) boring the brunt of the RCB batters and this time it was time for Chris Gayle, the Univers Boss, to unleash his full potential. The man smashed 117 runs off only 57 balls at a strike rate of 205.26 with 7 fours and 12 sixes to leave the KXIP bowlers in tatters.
