World Number one football player: TTop ten best football players

Robert Lewandoski, Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski has been a one man army at Bayern Munich. The German club have been running a monopoly in the Bundesliga as they have been running away with the title in the last 10 years.

Lewandowski arrived at the Allianz Arena in 2014 from another German football team Borussia Dortmund and since then has been a pivotal part of the setup winning one Champions League and ten Bundesliga titles.

Lionel Messi, Paris Saint Germain

Lionel Messi raised a few eyebrows when he decided to leave his boyhood club Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain in the summer. The Argentine international is regarded as the best football player in the world alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi didn’t have the desired start in the French capital as he could manage only six goals and 15 assists in his first season and he is likely to bounce back in a more fierce manner next season

Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo is touted as one of the greatest footballers to have ever graced the football pitch in the last two decades. Despite playing with an average bunch of players the Portuguese international still managed to net 18 goals in the Premier League last season.

The 37 year old will lead the Portugal national team in the 2022 Qatar World Cup and this could well be his last international tournament as it stands. He is one of the best players in the Premier League history and will try his luck once more under the guidance of Erik ten Hag.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has established his authority in the Premier League in very little time. The Egyptian forward is currently a very decorated name in world football and he finished the Premier League season as the joint top scorer.

Karim Benzema, Real Madrid

Karim Benzema finally is having his whirlwind time at Real Madrid. The France international never got his due credit due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale at the Santiago Bernabeu but he was destined to have some real time success at the Spanish club.

Benzema was involved in 59 goal contributions in 44 matches in all competitions as his goal scoring antics led the club to a UEFA Champions League and La Liga double.

Kevin de Bruyne, Manchester City

There are very few midfielders in the world are as influential as Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder has the ability to find a defence splitting pass with acute incisiveness and he has been the best midfielder on the English soil in the last couple of years.

With 15 goals and 8 assists, the attacking midfielder played a pivotal part as Man City defended their Premier League title pretty successfully.

Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint Germain

Kylian Mbappe is one of the most talented young footballers the world has ever seen. He has already proved his worth for the France national team having won the World cup at this tender age while he already has won the Ligue 1 title five times.

Mbappe signed one of the most lucrative contracts with PSG and with the Champions League remaining eluded for him he will try to gain the momentum once again next season.

Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk is probably the best defender in world football at current times. The Dutch player has turned Liverpool into a European powerhouse and his ability to lead a team’s backline has been the key reason behind the Reds’ resurgence in recent years.

He lost both the Premier League title and Champions League title in a gap of a few days but he will come back stronger next season.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City

Erling Haaland remains one of the most in-form forwards of recent times. The former Borussia Dortmund player recently signed for Man City and the Premier League will soon witness the greatness of this player.

At this very tender age, he has amassed some very astonishing numbers. The 21 year old Norwegian international registered 29 goals in 30 matches last season and City would be hoping for a similar output when the season starts.

Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane had a pretty underwhelming start to the season as he barely had any effects in the first part of the season. But he came back brilliantly in the latter half of the season as he ended the campaign with 17 goals in the Premier League.

There is no doubt regarding Kane’s ability and with Antonio Conte at the helm Spurs will go all out in a bid to compete for the Premier League next term. He has easily been one of the best players in the world but hasn’t been able to reflect that into success.
