Roger Binny is currently the BCCI president after he took over the post from former India cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was the BCCI Chairman from 2019 to 2022. Binny became the 36th president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) just before the T20 World Cup.

Raymond Eustace Grant Govan – First BCCI President
Raymond Eustace Grant Govan, was the first President of the BCCI. The British industrialist was the Managing Director of Govan Bros. Ltd., a leading business house which managed agents for a number of industrial enterprises. He was also the founder of Indian National Airways Ltd, an aviation company formed in 1933. A sports lover, Govan was not just the President of BCCI from 1928 to 1933, but also the president of the Cricket Club of India. Govan and the then BCCI secretary Anthony De Mello played a big role in getting the BCCI affiliated with the International Cricket Council, which was known as the Imperial Cricket Conference back then. In 1931 Govan invited the Marylebone Cricket Club to tour India for the first time. The businessman and cricket administrator passed away in 1940.
Jagmohan Dalmiya
Jagmohan Dalmiya is the only person to have served as the president of the BCCI for three different tenures. Dalmiya joined the BCCI in 1979 as a representative of Cricket Association of Bengal. In 1983, he was named the treasurer of the board. In 1997, he was elected President of the ICC, a position which he held for three years. Dalmiya became the first Asian and the first non-cricketer to become ICC president.
Dalmiya was elected the President of BCCI for the first time in 2001. After the end of his first tenure as the BCCI chairman, he served as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. In June 2013, Dalmiya was appointed as the interim president of the BCCI after N. Srinivasan stepped down during the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Srinivasan resumed his role as the president in October 2013. In 2015, Dalmiya was once again appointed the BCCI president, but he passed away of a heart attack that same year. In 1996, the BBC named Dalmiya as one of the world’s top six sports executives.
N. Srinivasan
Managing director of India Cements Limited, industrialist N Srinivasan held the post of BCCI president twice – 2011 to 2013 and 2013 to 2014. He was the Secretary of the BCCI before becoming the President in 2011. Srinivasan’s company India Cements owns IPL franchise team Chennai Super Kings. Srinivasan is also the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and President of the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation. In June 2014, Srinivasan became the first chairman of the ICC but was removed from the post the next year.
In 2013, during the IPL spot fixing controversy, Srinivasan’s son-in-law and CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested by Mumbai Police. Under pressure to resign from his post in the BCCI, Srinivasan stepped down in June 2013 and appointed Jagmohan Dalmiya as the interim president
Shashank Manohar
Like Srinivasan, Shashank Manohar also served as the President of the BCCI twice, from 2008 to 2011, and again from November 2015 to May 2016. Before being president of BCCI, he was the President of Vidarbha Cricket Association. During his stint with the BCCI, India became the No 1 Test side and also won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Manohar also served as the chairman of the ICC from 2015 to 2017.
Sourav Ganguly
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly became President of the BCCI in 2019. From 2015 to October 2019, he was the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Ganguly wanted to continue as the president but he didn’t get enough votes, as per a few news portals. He was also offered the role of IPL chairman but did not take it up. “These were great moments, whatever you do in life, I keep telling everyone, the best days were when you played for your country. I have seen so much after that, I have been president of the CAB, I have been president of the BCCI, and I will go on to do bigger things in the future, but those 15 years will be the best days of my life,” Ganguly said after being axed.
Roger Binny – Latest BCCI President
At the 2022 annual general meeting of the BCCI, Roger Binny was elected as the new president of the board. Jay Shah, meanwhile, has been retained as the board’s secretary. Binny was part of the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning squad of India. He retired after playing 27 Tests and 72 ODIs between 1979 and 1987. As a bowler, he took 47 Test wickets and 77 ODI wickets and as a batsman, Binny scored 830 Test runs and 629 ODI runs. He has also worked in various capacities at the Karnataka Cricket Association.
