Kevin O’Brien was the match-winner for the Gujarat Giants in their series opener against India Capitals two days ago. Brien scored 106 runs off 61 deliveries at a strike rate 173.77, which helped the Giants chase down 180 in 18.4 overs. Earlier, he scored a half century in the charity match against India Maharajas. The former Ireland international played 110 T20 internationals, from which he has an average and strike rate of 21.21 and 130.92.

Virender Sehwag – batsman, Gujarat Giants

Former India opener Virender Sehwag scored in single digits in Giants’ first game of the tournament and will be looking to make amends for the same in the next game. In his T20I career of 19 matches, Sehwag had a strike rate of over 145. He also exhibited some good performances in the Road Safety Series last year, including an unbeaten 80 and unbeaten 74.

Parthiv Patel – wicketkeeper batsman, Gujarat Giants

Parthiv Patel scored 24 off 13 in the first game at a strike rate of over 180. Earlier in the charity game, he chipped in with 18 runs. The southpaw played only two T20 internationals, but featured in 38 ODIs, in which he averaged 23.74.

Mohammad Kaif – batsman, Manipal Tigers

Mohammad Kaif was the best performer for Manipal Tigers in their opening game of the tournament against the Bhilwara Kings. Kaif scored 73 off 59 which was laced with 10 boundaries. The right handed batsman played 125 ODIs for India, from which he scored 2753 runs at an average of 32.01.

Ryan Sidebottom – bowler, Manipal Tigers

With three wickets, Ryan Sidebottom was the best bowler for Manipal Tigers in their previous game. The left arm pacer will now look to deliver a similar performance in the next game. Sidebottom played 18 T20 internationals for England, in which he picked up 23 wickets. In 25 ODIs, the pacer took 29 wickets.
