Women’s Premier League 2024: Squads, Playing XIs, Schedule And Everything Else You Need To Know

The 2024 Women’s Premier League marks the league’s second season. Organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the franchise cricket competition for women is played between five teams – Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz. The second edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place from February 23 to March 17, 2024. Games are scheduled to take place at two venues – the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi. The knockout games will also be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The tournament follows a double round-robin format where each team plays the others twice, once at home and once away. The top three teams with the most points advance to the playoffs. The team with the highest points secures a direct spot in the final match. The second and third-placed teams face off in an “Eliminator” match, with the winner progressing to the final.

Ahead of the auction for WPL 2024, the five teams chose to retain a total of 60 players from the previous season, while 30 players were sold during the auction. Notably, nine of these players were from overseas.
