What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is a logic-based number-placement puzzle that doesn't require any special math skills or calculations to find the solution. This Japan-based game gets its name from Su-ji wa dokushin ni kagiru, meaning that the number must be single or that the numbers are limited to one occurrence. The game is played on a 9x9 grid which contains digits between 1 to 9 in such a way that each row, column, and 3x3 block contain all the digits from 1 to 9. The key point here is that no row, column, or section should contain each digit more than once.
