Cricket World Cup 2023: NZ vs NED Fantasy Preview and MPL Top Picks

Match: New Zealand vs Netherlands, Cricket World Cup 2023 (NZ vs NED)

Date: October 9, Monday, 2.00 PM IST

Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad

New Zealand and Netherlands will play the sixth match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 in Hyderabad on October 9.

New Zealand began their World campaign with a win over England. Matt Henry and Glenn Phillips together picked up five wickets to restrict England to a first innings total of 282 for 9. While that was not an easily chaseable target, an unbeaten century each from Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra took New Zealand over the line in only 36.2 overs. Conway scored an unbeaten 152 off 121 balls at a strike rate of 125.62. Ravindra, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 123 off 96, which was laced with 11 boundaries and five maximums. With a comprehensive victory in their opening game, England will be high on confidence, especially against a low-ranked Netherlands side.

The Dutch lost their opening game to Pakistan but not without giving a fight. Bas de Leede picked up four wickets to keep the Pakistan batting line-up in control, after which the batsman gave a good fight while chasing 286, before falling short by 81 runs. Vikramjit Singh and Leede scored half centuries.

Ahead of the sixth game of Cricket World Cup 2023, here’s everything you need to know to maximise your chances of winning cash prizes on MPL fantasy.

Five players to watch out for

Here we list five players you must pick in your MPL fantasy XI for NZ vs NED, Cricket World Cup 2023

Devon Conway – batsman, New Zealand

Before the World Cup began, Devon Conway had scored with 308 runs in six ODI innings this year at an average of over 51. He was expected to be one of New Zealand’s best batsman in the tournament and he didn’t disappoint. Conway scored 78 runs in the warm-up game against South Africa, before scoring an unbeaten 152 off 121 balls at a strike rate of 125.62 against England. With this knock, Conway also became the fastest to 1,000 runs for New Zealand in ODIs,

Rachin Ravindra – batsman, New Zealand

Another centurion for New Zealand against England was Rachin Ravindra, who remained unbeaten on 123 off 96, which was laced with 11 boundaries and five maximums. The 23-year-old became the third-youngest to score a century on ODI World Cup debut. Ravindra and Conway shared a partnership of 273* runs, which is the highest partnership for the Kiwis at the World Cup.

Bas de Leede – all-rounder, Netherlands

Bas de Leede was the reason why Netherlands were able to give a scare to Pakistan in their previous game. The allrounder delivered with both the bat and ball. With the bat, he scored 67 off 68, while with the ball, he picked up four wickets. The 23-year-old has played 31 ODIs for the Dutch, scoring 832 runs and picking 28 wickets.

Vikramjit Singh – batsman, Netherlands

Vikramjit Singh is another Netherlands player who can help you win some points in your fantasy team. He scored a half century against Pakistan. The 20-year-old was also the highest run-scorer for Netherlands at the World Cup Qualifiers, with 326 runs from eight matches at an average of 40.75.

Matt Henry – bowler, New Zealand

Matt Henry was New Zealand’s best bowler in the match against England. He not only picked up three wickets – including that of Jos Buttler, but he also bowled at an economical rate of 4.80 in his 10 overs.
