235/9 vs SRH, IPL 2021

Mumbai Indians managed to stun the SRH bowlers with their assault during the second phase of IPL 2021. Ishan Kishan led the way opening the innings for the five-time champions scoring 84 runs off just 32 deliveries. He smashed 11 fours and 4 sixes during his stay in the middle. Suryakumar Yadav was the other batter in the line-up who matched his heroics amassing 82 runs off 40 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Jason Holder picked up four wickets for SRH but he couldn’t stop MI from posting a mammoth total of 235 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Mumbai Indians’ second highest score in IPL came against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in IPL 2017. Punjab had posted 230 runs batting first in their 20 overs. In response, Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel got the team off to a flyer. While Simmons smashed 59 runs off 32 balls, the latter scored 38 runs. There was a blip in the middle overs before Kieron Pollard launched an assault smashing an unbeaten 50 off 24 deliveries. The third highest total of Mumbai Indians in IPL history also came in the second innings, this time against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. CSK had posted 218 runs batting first in 20 overs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In response, Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma got the team off to a brilliant start while Krunal Pandya also played his part mustering 32 runs. However, the chase got real impetus when Kieron Pollard came out to bat. He stamped his authority on the CSK bowlers with an unbeaten 87 off just 34 balls with 6 fours and 8 sixes. Thanks to his knock, MI gunned down the target on the final ball of the innings registering a thrilling win.

Winding the clock back to 2010, Mumbai Indians registered their fourth highest all-time IPL total against Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils). Batting first, skipper Sachin Tendulkar led the way from the front scoring 63 runs off 32 balls hitting 11 fours during his stay in the middle. Saurabh Tiwary stood strong in the middle order scoring 61 runs off 37 balls then with 4 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Ambati Rayudu provided a finishing touch with 34 runs off 21 balls as MI posted a whopping total of 218/7 in their 20 overs. Delhi team were not a match for Mumbai’s bowlers as they were bundled out for 120 runs in the 17th over losing the match by 98 runs.

213/6 vs RCB, IPL 2018

MI’s managed to post their fifth highest IPL total in IPL 2018 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite losing two wickets off the very first two balls of the match, MI were on top by the end of their innings. Evin Lewis and Rohit Sharma were the stars as they put on 108 runs for the third wicket partnership. Lewis hit 65 runs off 42 balls while Rohit Sharma was at his brutal best scoring 94 runs off 52 deliveries with 10 fours and five sixes. On the back of their stellar knocks, MI managed to post 213 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. In response, Virat Kohli batted through the innings scoring an unbeaten 94, but RCB could only reach 167 runs in their 20 overs.

212/3 vs DC, IPL 2017

Delhi franchise was once again at the radar of the Mumbai Indians back in IPL 2017 as they registered their sixth highest total in IPL. Lendl Simmons was at the forefront of the action scoring 66 runs with five fours and 4 sixes opening the innings. Kieron Pollard batted at number three in this game and smashed an unbeaten 63 off 35 balls while Hardik Pandya provided the finishing touches with 29 runs off 14 balls. MI managed to post a mammoth total of 212 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. Delhi were skittled only for 66 runs in response as MI registered a huge win by 146 runs.

212/6 vs RR, IPL 2010

Mumbai Indians batters had plummetted the Royals bowlers back in IPL 2010 for their seventh highest score in IPL history. It was a collective batting effort from the top five of their line-up. However, the real stars were Saurabh Tiwary and Ambati Rayudu who scored 53 and 55 runs respectively. Thanks to their efforts, MI posted 212 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. In response, Yusuf Pathan slammed 100 off just 37 balls but unfortunately, his record knock went in vain as RR fell short by just 4 runs as they could reach 208 runs in their 20 overs.

210/6 vs KKR, IPL 2018

Mumbai Indians have a brilliant head-to-head record against Kolkata Knight Riders and one of those wins came in IPL 2018 when they posted a record total. Batting first, MI were bolstered with Ishan Kishan’s knock at number four. The left-hander smashed 62 runs off 21 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes to his name while the rest of the batters also chipped in with decent scores. MI posted 210 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. In response, KKR were no match at all as they were skittled for just 108 runs in the 19th over to lose the game by 102 runs.

209/7 vs RCB, IPL 2015

Mumbai Indians registered their ninth highest total in IPL in the 2015 edition against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first, Lendl Simmons and Unmukt Chand slammed half-centuries hitting 17 fours and 4 sixes between them. Rohit Sharma provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 42 off 15 balls as MI reached 209 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. In response, RCB threatened to chase down the target but MI bowlers had just enough runs on the board as they won by 18 runs.

209/5 vs DC, IPL 2013

Mumbai Indians once again had Delhi franchise on their radar as they pummeled 209 runs in their 20 overs against them. After losing Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar before the second over, Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma turned the game on its head. Karthik smashed 86 off 48 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes to his name. Rohit Sharma played till the end to remain not out on 74 off 50 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes.
