Sri Lanka and Pakistan will contest the fifth match of the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup 2023 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 14. This game will decide which team advances to the final.

Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka come into this game on the back of a loss to India. For the next game, Pakistan have dropped Fakhar Zaman in favour of Mohammed Haris.

Sri Lanka too lost to India, but not without putting up a good fight. Their bowlers bowled brilliantly to restrict the Indian batsmen to a low score.  Dunith Wellalage picked up five wickets to bowl out India for a total of 213 in 49.1 overs. However, their batsmen were not able to chase down the target as Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets and Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja also shared four wickets between them.

Pakistan will be taking confidence from the fact that they have won each of their last eight completed ODIs against Sri Lanka.
