Rummy, as a game, is all about creating valid sets and sequences and reducing the points from 80 to 0
A player has to make a minimum of 2 sequences- Pure Sequence and Impure Sequence
Pure Sequence: A player can form a sequence with a group of three or more cards of the same suit, that are in consecutive order. The player cannot form a pure sequence with a joker card (wild card). To declare a rummy game, they at least need to have one pure sequence.
Impure Sequence: An impure sequence is formed when a group of 3 or more cards of the same suit with an added wild card or a joker card. Although a valid declaration can contain impure sequences, it is mandatory to have a pure sequence.
Sets: It is a group of either three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. Use both the wild card and printed Jokers in a set. There is no compulsion of forming pure and impure sets in sets. Regardless of a joker card, you can form a set.
Wild Card: It is a designated card in rummy that can be used to represent any particular card. Most of the time, a joker is chosen for an entire game as a Wild Card.
Scoring in Rummy:
A, K, Q, J- 10 points
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2- same as face value
Joker and Wild Cards- 0 points
A player must declare valid sets and sequences and reach zero at the earliest.
Never exit a game. Use the drop option if you score low points.
Incorrect sets or sequences will result in a loss of 80 points!
